This is interesting. Budget consultations are usually done exclusively through government channels, yet this is being advertised as a political party activity.


The branding of these consultations is very good—that is not a question.

They have been running split-tests of the same ad with multiple breathtaking images for the past few weeks.

Conservative Party of Canada

The Conservatives have consistently proven to be the best at timely key issue ads.

They are also the best at raising money.

These strengths were on display in this week’s Political Party Ad Tracker.


It only took about 48 hours from the time Trudeau made controversial comments on veteran compensation for the Conservatives to begin running an ad on it.

The ad has gotten significant engagement and will surely resonate with the Conservative base.


Don’t expect the Conservatives to let Justin Trudeau forget about his Bahamas vacation anytime soon.

In fact, the Conservatives don’t want voters to forget a single detail. That’s why they made this explanatory video chronologically outlining Trudeau’s missteps.


The Conservatives are keeping this straightforward ad in circulation for the second week in a row.

Again, sometimes people just need to be reminded that they want to give you money. Especially if they think the government lacks common sense and you have it.

New Democratic Party

The NDP is trying out a “new vibe” to generate some buzz around their convention.

All the ads with “new vibe” are running on Jagmeet Singh’s personal Facebook page—a tactic clearly designed to craft a unique brand of leadership and “new vibe” around Singh himself.


A new vibe is exactly what the NDP needs to hype their convention.

This creative ad should help in the NDP’s pursuit of the hype.


The NDP are getting good at highlighting their leader’s ability to connect with people from an array of backgrounds.

Each new ad they run shows Singh connecting with people in different demographics.

This is a good way of getting people to see themselves reflected in the party. And of course, motivating them to register for their convention.
